The Rural Women Development Association launches “Enhancing Women's Economic Resilience in Tulkarm and Qalqilya Governorates” Project
Tulkarm – Qalqilya | The Rural Women’s Development Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Relief, has launched the “Enhancing Women's Economic Resilience in Tulkarm and Qalqilya governorates” project. This initiative is part of the Investment Program for Resilience (IPR IV), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme/Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (UNDP/PAPP) and funded by the German government through KfW Development Bank.
The launch was marked by introductory meetings in both governorates, bringing together representatives from government bodies, civil society, women’s organizations, as well as businesswomen and economic activists.
The project aims to support women-led or women-empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across various sectors in the West Bank to strengthen women’s economic resilience and promote sustainable business development.
Organizers highlighted the critical role of empowering Palestinian women economically, viewing it as essential for fostering local economic growth and ensuring social stability—especially amid increasing challenges facing women entrepreneurs in Palestine.
