Empowering Rural Women Entrepreneurs in Palestine: RWDS Advances Green Economy Partnerships at Green Forward Conference 2025
Ramallah - Palestine, October 2025. The Rural Women’s Development Society (RWDS), led by its esteemed General Director Mrs. Haneen Zaidan, marked a significant participation and a milestone at the Green Forward Conference 2025 held in Ramallah. This event, hosted by “Flow Accelerator” and supported by “SPARK” organization with funding from the European Union (EU), served as a pivotal platform for fostering sustainable development and green economy initiatives across Palestine.

At the conference, RWDS demonstrated its unwavering commitment to advancing the economic and environmental sustainability of rural Palestinian communities. The organization’s active involvement culminated in the signing of memorandums of understanding with three prominent independent partners: Palestine For Credit & Development - FATEN, MA'AN Development Center, and Envision Solution in Palestine.

These partnerships aim to empower RWDS as a Business Support Organization (BSO), enabling it to champion innovative green projects and extend vital support to local entrepreneurs and enterprises.

Mrs. Zaidan emphasized that these collaborations are a testament to RWDS’s strategic vision of fostering a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable green economy in Palestine. Through cooperation with FATEN, a key financial institution dedicated to microfinance and social inclusion, RWDS seeks to enhance access to green financing for women-led and small-scale businesses. Meanwhile, partnerships with MA'AN and Envision will facilitate the integration of circular economy principles and sustainable agricultural practices, vital for Palestine's ecological and economic resilience.

The significance of these alliances extends beyond immediate goals. They represent a vital step towards building a vibrant eco-system for green initiatives, fostering investments, and creating opportunities for rural women entrepreneurs to thrive. The collaborations are poised to have a lasting impact on the local economy by promoting environmentally-friendly practices, supporting sustainable livelihoods, and reducing ecological footprints.

Looking ahead, RWDS’s leadership, including Mrs. Zaidan, envisions these partnerships as a launchpad for future endeavors that will solidify Palestine’s position in regional and global green economies. This momentum aligns with the broader aspirations highlighted by the conference—to catalyze sustainable investments, empower marginalized groups, and nurture a culture of innovation and ecological responsibility among Palestinian communities.

The Green Forward Conference 2025 not only showcased RWDS’s leadership in sustainability but also reinforced the hope for a greener, more resilient Palestine. As Mrs. Zaidan articulated, these alliances symbolize a collective step toward a future where women in rural areas are central to the nation’s green transformation—driving change, fostering economic growth, and safeguarding the environment for generations to come.
Together, with steadfast partnerships and community engagement, RWDS continues to pave the way toward a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous Palestine in the green economy era.
